So Ben left for India on Saturday and is going to be gone for 4 weeks. In an effort not to miss him too much I have decided to keep myself busy with different projects. This was my first one. My friend Tanya has a lemon tree that was loaded with lemons she was trying to give away so the kids and I went and picked 5 bags full of lemons. Tanya had mentioned that she juiced them and froze the juice in ice cube trays. I figured that fresh lemon juice all year sounded good, so I borrowed my friend Sharon's juicer and after only an hour and a half these were the results.
Thank you Sharon for the electric juicer, I would have given up early on if I hadn't had this.

The remaining lemon juice that I am still going to have to freeze in batches of 4 trays at a time.
The garbage can full of lemon rinds, this was the second bag, the first was partially full of other garbage when I started, this is all lemon rinds. Do you even call them lemon rinds? I don't know, but either way there you have my first stay busy project.

Wow, how fun! Our neighbor has a lemon tree that is always stuffed full and he said we could pick them but i never knew what to do with all those lemons. Now I know! Looks like you had a great time!
those lemon ice cubes actually sound so god right now. yummy. i remember getting an email from tanya about those lemons and then completely forgot about it. how are you holding up? call me wehenver. lets go do somethign fun.

I can think of so many lemon desserts you could make with all that lemon juice...lemon bars, lemon curd, lemon cream puffs, my oh so good top secret lemon coconut cookies.
Does your friend also have an orange tree. Oranges from AZ are the BEST!!!!!
My neighbor has an apple tree and we pick green apples all the time. (they let us just for the record)

I might have to do that with the lemons I got from the Calls too because I'm running out of ideas. Are you still up for some Sunday night games while Ben is away, because we might just have to come over and keep you company?
