Nate's Play

This semester in school Nate was in a beginning drama/choir class for his fine arts section.  His class got together and wrote and performed a play.  The play was called "Murder and Spandex".  It takes place at Comicon.  I have to admit I was a little skeptical about going to a play that was written by a group of 13 and 14-year-old kids.  I was happily mistaken and the play was really fun and quite witty.  Nate played the lead investigator in the murder case... at least until he went crazy after eating some tainted whole-wheat donuts with disastrous side-effects.

Wild Western Festival

Every year Saguaro Ranch park in Glendale does a Wild Western Festival.  We have never gone before because it is $10 to $15 per person to attend.  This year I found a deal online that we could take our whole family for $25, so I purchased the tickets several months in advance.  When the time came for the festival Ben was in India.  I took the kids anyway and we invited Aunt Becca to join us.

There were a lot of people dressed up for the wild west time as well as a lot of horses, including this young colt.

There were also several games for the kids to play.

There were several different shows and many booths of people selling their wares.  We stayed for a couple of hours and had a fun time.  I don't think I would pay full price to attend this festival in the future, but I am glad we were able to go and have a good time.
